Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 23, 2026
- Block Shift has no accounts of its own. You never sign up or give us your name or email.
- Your coins, powers, adventure stars, best scores, settings and unfinished game are stored only on your device. We have no server that receives them.
- We use Google AdMob for ads, Google Firebase for anonymous usage statistics and crash reports, RevenueCat to handle purchases, and Game Center (iPhone and iPad) or Google Play Games (Android) for the optional global leaderboards.
- On iPhone and iPad, your advertising identifier is used only if you allow tracking. Where the law requires it, ads follow the choices you make in Google's consent form. We do not sell your data.
This policy explains what information the Block Shift mobile game ("Block Shift", "the app") handles on iOS and Android, why, and what choices you have. Block Shift is published by Hangar Apps ("we", "us"). If you have a question, contact us at [email protected].
1. Information stored only on your device
The following data is saved locally in the app's private storage and is not uploaded to us:
- Progress: your coins, the powers you own (hammer, pick a piece, undo, extra trash), the stars you earned in each Adventure level, and your best Endless and Time Attack scores
- Unfinished game: the board of an Endless game you left, so you can resume it
- Settings: sound, vibration and language choices
- Purchases on this device: whether the ad-free purchase was active the last time the app checked, so it can start without ads before the store answers, and the transaction IDs of your recent coin pack purchases, so the same purchase is never counted twice
- Ad counters: how many games you have finished and how many free rewards you have used today, so ads follow the limits described in our Terms of Use
You can erase all of this at any time with Settings → Delete account and clear data. Uninstalling Block Shift also removes it. If you use your device's own backup (for example iCloud Backup or Google backup), that backup may include Block Shift's data under your device settings. Block Shift has no cloud save, so we cannot recover lost coins, powers or progress for you. The ad-free purchase can always be restored, because it is tied to your App Store or Google Play account.
2. Global leaderboards (optional)
Block Shift's global leaderboards use Game Center on iPhone and iPad and Google Play Games on Android. When you open the game, it asks the platform to sign you in; you can dismiss the prompt and keep playing. If you are signed in:
- Your best Endless score, best Time Attack score and total Adventure stars are sent to Apple or Google, and are sent again whenever you set a new best.
- Your player name (alias), avatar and those scores are shown to other players on the leaderboards, as set by Apple or Google.
- The app receives your player ID and display name from the platform only to show your own row. We do not store them on our side.
This data is handled by Apple and Google under their own privacy policies. You can sign out, hide your profile or delete your game data in Game Center settings on iOS or in Google Play Games settings on Android.
3. Information handled by third-party services
Block Shift includes a few services from other companies. They may collect information from your device as described below and in their own privacy policies.
| Service | What it's for | Data it may collect |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob | Showing a full-screen ad between some games, and a rewarded ad when you choose to watch one for a bonus | Advertising identifier (IDFA on iPhone and iPad only with your permission, Android Advertising ID), IP address and the approximate location derived from it, device and app information, and ad interactions such as views, taps and whether a rewarded ad was watched to the end |
| Google Firebase Analytics | Understanding how the game is played so we can improve it, for example which Adventure levels are too hard | Screens viewed, game starts and ends (mode, score, longest chain, lines, moves and why the game ended), Adventure level results and stars, powers used, coins earned and spent, ads shown and rewards received, an app instance ID, device model, OS version, language, approximate country (derived from IP address), and on devices where allowed, the advertising identifier |
| Google Firebase Crashlytics | Finding and fixing crashes and errors | Crash logs and stack traces, errors such as a failed store request, the game mode being played, device model, OS version, app version and an installation identifier |
| RevenueCat | Processing and restoring the ad-free purchase and coin pack purchases | A random anonymous user ID created on your device, purchase and transaction details (product, price, date, store receipt), device and app information, and IP address |
| Apple Game Center / Google Play Games | Global leaderboards, only if you sign in (see section 2) | Your player profile on that platform and the scores sent to the leaderboards |

4. Payments
The ad-free purchase and coin packs are paid through the Apple App Store or Google Play. We and RevenueCat never see your card number or other payment details. We only learn whether the ad-free purchase is active and which coin pack was bought, so the app can turn off ads and add the coins.
5. Tracking, ads and your choices
- Consent form: where the law requires it (for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), Google's consent form asks how your data may be used for advertising when you first open Block Shift, and no ads are requested until your choices allow it. In those regions you can reopen the form at any time from Settings → Ad privacy options in the app.
- iPhone and iPad: after your first game, Block Shift asks for permission to track you through App Tracking Transparency. If you don't allow it, your IDFA is not used by AdMob or Firebase; you still see ads, but they are less relevant to you. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Android: you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads. Once deleted, apps can no longer use it for personalized ads or analytics.
- Optional ads and the ad-free purchase: rewarded ads play only when you tap to watch one. After the ad-free purchase, no ads are shown between games and rewards are given without an ad.
6. Device features and permissions
- Sound and vibration: sound effects and light haptic taps while you play. You can turn both off in Settings.
- Sharing: Challenge a friend opens your device's share sheet with a short text about your score. You choose where it goes; we don't see who you share with.
- Web pages: FAQ, Privacy Policy, Terms of Use and Contact us open this website in an in-app browser. Like any website, its host receives your IP address and browser information to deliver the page.
- Block Shift does not send notifications and does not use your camera, microphone, contacts, photos, calendar or location.
7. Why we process data (legal bases)
Where the EU/UK GDPR or Turkey's Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK) applies, we rely on:
- Your consent for personalized ads and tracking on iOS. You can withdraw it at any time with the controls above.
- Performing our contract with you to provide and restore the ad-free purchase, to deliver the coin packs you buy, and to show the leaderboards you sign in to.
- Our legitimate interest in funding a free game with non-personalized ads, keeping ads free of fraud, understanding how the game is played, fixing crashes, and answering your emails.
8. Retention
Data on your device stays there until you clear it in Settings or uninstall the app. Advertising, analytics and crash data is kept by the providers above for a limited period under their own retention settings, and then deleted or anonymized. Purchase records are kept as long as needed to restore your purchase and to meet legal and tax obligations. Leaderboard scores stay with Apple or Google until you delete them there. If you email us, we keep the conversation only as long as needed to help you, and then delete it.
9. International transfers
Our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, they use recognized safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
10. Children
Block Shift is a general-audience puzzle game and is not directed at children under 13, or under the minimum age required in your country. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, please contact us and we will help remove it.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR, KVKK, or California's CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent. Block Shift keeps your game data only on your device, so you can delete it with Settings → Delete account and clear data or by uninstalling the app. For leaderboard data, use your Game Center or Google Play Games settings. For data held by the other providers above, use the choices in section 5, or email us at [email protected]; include your app instance ID or advertising ID if you can, and we will forward your request. We do not sell your personal information. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
12. Changes to this policy
If Block Shift starts handling data differently, for example by adding cloud saves or a new service, we will update this policy before that version is released. The "Last updated" date at the top always shows the latest version, and important changes will be announced in the app or in the store release notes.
