Frequently asked questions
How do I play?
Divide the grid into rectangles. Each number tells how many squares its rectangle holds, and every rectangle contains exactly one number. Drag from corner to corner to draw a rectangle, and tap a wrong one to remove it. The puzzle is solved when every square is covered.
Later chapters add new rules: numbers in a square frame need a square rectangle, and dotted empty cells belong to no rectangle. You can see the introduction again from Settings → Replay introduction.
How are stars and the score worked out?
Each level gives points for the solve (bigger and harder boards are worth more), a bonus for speed, and a deduction for mistakes. Reaching 80% of the best possible score earns three stars, 50% earns two, and any solve earns one. You can replay a level at any time; only your best result is kept.
A chapter is locked. How do I open it?
Chapters open with stars. A chapter opens once your total stars reach 80% of all the stars in the chapters before it; the map shows how many you need. Replaying earlier levels for three stars is the quickest way there.
How do hints work?
Tap the bulb in a level and one missing rectangle settles into place. Hints don't lower your score. With Premium, your first 3 hints in every level are free. After that, hints come from your bought balance, and when that is empty the hint sheet lets you watch a short ad for a hint, as often as you like, or buy a hint pack.
The hint says the ad isn't ready
If no ad can be loaded (for example with a weak connection, or when no ad is available in your region at that moment), no hint is given. Wait a moment and try again. The ad needs to be watched to the end for the hint to arrive. Where Google's consent form applies, ads also need your consent; you can change it in Settings → Ad and privacy choices.
What does Minoku Premium include?
Premium is a monthly or yearly subscription. It removes the ads between levels and gives you 3 free hints in every level. The yearly plan starts with a free trial when the store offers one. Open Settings → Minoku Premium to see the plans and prices.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by the stores, and deleting the app does not cancel them:
- iPhone / iPad: open Settings → your name → Subscriptions, choose Minoku and tap Cancel Subscription.
- Android: open the Play Store, tap your profile, then Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions, choose Minoku and tap Cancel.
Cancel at least 24 hours before the period (or the free trial) ends to avoid the next charge. Premium stays on until the end of the period you paid for.
I subscribed but still see ads, or Premium is missing on my new phone
Open Settings → Restore purchases. Make sure you're signed in to the same Apple ID or Google account you subscribed with. Premium removes the ads between levels; the ad you can choose to watch for an extra hint is always optional.
I bought hints but they're gone
Bought hints are kept on the device where you bought them. They can't be restored from the store like a subscription, so they are lost if you uninstall the app or reset or change your phone, unless you restore the phone from its own backup. If a purchase was charged but the hints never arrived, email us with the store's receipt and we'll help.
How do I get a refund?
Purchases are processed by the stores, so refunds are handled by them:
- iPhone / iPad: go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in and pick Minoku.
- Android: open your Google Play order history, find Minoku and choose Request a refund.
How do I turn reminders on or off?
Open Settings → Daily reminder. When it's on, Minoku sends a short reminder every day at 13:00 and 20:00. If the switch won't stay on, notifications are turned off for Minoku in your phone's settings: on iPhone go to Settings → Notifications → Minoku, on Android to Settings → Apps → Minoku → Notifications.
How do I hide the timer, turn off vibration or mistake highlighting?
All three are switches in Settings. The timer is hidden by default; your time still counts toward the score.
How do I change the language?
Go to Settings → Language. Minoku is available in Türkçe and English.
I got a new phone. Can I move my progress?
Minoku has no account or cloud sync; your progress and bought hints are stored on your device. They move to a new phone only if you restore it from your device's own backup (iCloud Backup on iPhone, Google backup on Android). Uninstalling the app deletes them. Premium is different: use Settings → Restore purchases on the new phone.
How do I change my ad and tracking choices?
Where Google's consent form applies (for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), Settings → Ad and privacy choices appears in Minoku so you can update your ad consent. On iPhone and iPad, tracking permission is in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Settings → Privacy → Ads. See our Privacy Policy for details.
How do I delete my data?
Minoku has no accounts and keeps your game data only on your device. Uninstalling the app deletes all of it. For data held by our ad, analytics and purchase providers, see our Privacy Policy or email us.
